Everything new in Brezy, newest first. Brezy is a one-time purchase — every update is free.
1.2.3 — June 2026
- “Scene changed — save?” Tweak an applied scene and a prompt lets you update it in place or save your changes as a new scene.
- Swipe to manage saved scenes. Swipe a saved scene left to reveal Edit and Delete, and drag the handle to reorder your list.
1.2.2 — June 2026
- “Check for updates” actually checks now. It compares your version against the latest release and offers the update when there is one.
- Fairer trial. The free trial is now tied to your Mac, so it can't be reset by clearing app data — no change for normal use.
1.2.1 — June 2026
Stability, performance, and licensing refinements.
- Smoother on big & multi-monitor setups. Substantially lower CPU and memory on 4K and dual-display Macs — adaptive frame rates on large displays, a lighter behind-windows layer, and shared textures.
- Up to 2 Macs per license. Your license now activates on two Macs; a new “Deactivate this Mac” button in Settings frees a slot so you can move to another.
- Trial-end fix. When the free trial ends, every effect now stops cleanly (a couple of elements could previously keep animating).
- Menu-bar panel fix. The panel now reliably closes when you click outside it.
1.2.0 — June 2026
A big polish release: a fresh look, richer ambient sound, more sense of depth, and friendlier scene management.
New & improved
- Brand-new icon. A cleaner “breeze” mark — white wind streaks on a teal squircle — across the app, the Dock, and the menu bar. The menu-bar streaks curl when Brezy is running and rest flat when it's off.
- Aurora floats behind your windows. The northern-lights curtains now drift behind your app windows by default for real depth — joining clouds and sun & moon rays, each with its own “float behind” switch.
- Richer, more natural ambient sound. Crickets, birdsong, wind, and thunder were all re-synthesized to sound less electronic — deeper thunder, weightier wind, warmer birdsong, and a softer night cricket chorus (no more piercing buzz). Weather and nature sounds now sit in their own spatial reverb.
- Reorder your saved scenes. Drag your own scenes into any order you like — the arrangement is saved.
- Smarter “Reset to defaults.” Reset now lands on the Sunny day scene with its matching desktop wallpaper, so you're never left staring at a blank desktop.
Refinements
- Simpler settings. A clearer three-section layout (Scene · Elements · Settings), per-element on/off switches, and tidy grouped rows with an Advanced section for the power-user options.
- Scene gallery with thumbnails. Built-in scenes now show their wallpaper as a preview, and saved scenes remember every setting you had on (including whether the matching wallpaper was enabled). Save up to 20.
- Redesigned wallpapers. Fresh art for Snowfall, Autumn breeze, Spring bloom (a Japanese cherry-blossom & Mt. Fuji scene), Foggy morning, and Overcast.
- Tell us anything. A new “Report an issue or request a feature” link in Settings, and tapping the version opens the website.
- Turning Brezy off restores your wallpaper to its last state, and the menu bar shows a power-saving indicator when that mode is on.
